Pushed to the breaking-point after their latest, “why can’t you do this one little thing for me?” argument, art dealer Brooke calls it quits with her boyfriend, Gary, who hosts bus tours of Chicago. What follows is a series of remedies, war tactics, overtures and underminings suggested by the former couple’s friends, confidantes and the occasional total stranger. When neither ex is willing to move out of the condo they used to share, the only solution is to continue living as hostile roommates until somebody caves. But somewhere between protesting the pool table in the living room, the dirty clothes stacked in the kitchen cupboards and the sports played at sleep-killing volume in the middle of the night, Brooke begins to realize that what she may be really fighting for isn’t so much the place but the person.

A bickering couple, immature, irresponsible Gary (Vaughn) and Brooke (Aniston), live in a Condo in chicago. Both are driven in their careers, with Gary working as a partner and tour guide in his brothers’ booming tour business and Brooke working in an art gallery. Early in the movie, they separate after a bitter argument. Their conflicts are largely due to Gary’s immaturity and inflexibility.

Their social backgrounds contribute to the division that becomes apparent between them. Brooke has applied Feng shui books from her mother in the interior design of her and Gary’s condo; her brother Richard is part of an a cappella group called The Tone Rangers; her friend Addie uses phrases of advice such as “Remember, we’re always owning our actions, right? And we’re always healthy with it, yes?”; and Brooke bemoans how many times she has dropped “hints about the ballet” to Gary, but to no avail. By contrast, Gary likes action-oriented teen video games, is an avid Chicago sports fan, and wants a pool table in the condo. Brooke is fighting for their relationship to stay alive. However, the condo ends up becoming the subject of a war in which both try to outwit and outdo each other through blind dates, drunken parties, and broken promises.

In the end, they agree to separate, both giving up the condo, taking their share of the money from its sale and moving on with their lives. After learning through a real-estate agent friend that a buyer has been found and that they have two weeks to move out, Brooke invites Gary to an Old 97’s concert for which she had previously bought tickets for the two of them. Gary agrees to meet her there, but instead intentionally stands her up, and heads to his friend Johnny O’s bar, making Brooke upset to the point of crying. In spite of a subsequent effort by Gary to reach out to Brooke by preparing a surprise dinner in the condo, their breakup has become inevitable.

Gary, realizing what he has lost, returns to his tour business while Brooke travels the world, eventually finding her way back to Chicago. At the end of the movie, they meet again by chance on the streets of Chicago. After some awkward but friendly catching up, they part ways but catch each other glancing over their shoulders and share a smile.

Earlier FDA had told consumers to stop using three products marketed over-the-counter as cold remedies because they are associated with the loss of sense of smell (anosmia). Anosmia may be long-lasting or permanent.No Zicam reall from Matrixx yet, but the company is considering its response.

Rumors of a Zicam recall are circulating rapidly, since the FDA issued a warning today about Zicam. There have been enough reports of anosmia (total loss of sense of smell) and hyposmia (partial smell loss) that the FDA is now warning consumers not to use or to stop using Zicam Cold Remedy nasal gel.

Popular intranasal spray Zicam is being recalled as the Food & Drug Administration warns of 130 cases of anosmia- loss of the sense of smell.

Some Zicam users reporting anosmia say that the condition started with the first dose, while others indicate the symptoms did not appear until multiple doses had been administered. Officials have not yet determined if the condition is permanent, and fear the intranasal gel spray may be damaging nerves. The FDA expressed concern that consumers are using Zicam for a minor, “self-limiting condition” (such as a cold) and inadvertently risk damaging their quality of life permanently.

The affected products have been pulled from store shelves across the country and the FDA have advised that all remaining product should be discarded and not used for any reason. Zicam manufacturer Matrixx Initiatives has 15 days to respond to the allegations and must submit all user complaints to the FDA. In a statement on their website, Matrixx Initiatives says:

“No plaintiff has ever won a court case, because there is no known causal link between the use of Zicam Cold Remedy nasal gel and impairment of smell.”

Products named in the recall include Zicam Cold Remedy Nasal Gel, Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs and Zicam Cold Remedy Swabs (Kids Size.) On news of the recall, Matrixx Initiatives stock plummeted 55%.

Of course, if Matrixx Initiative stands to lose money on lawsuits, that means people who have used Zicam and experienced the adverse effects stand to make money.

DALLAS (SMU) - SMU Athletics broke ground today on the new SMU Payne Stewart Golf Learning Center at the Dallas Athletic Club (DAC). The groundbreaking starts construction on a center which will consist of three main components: a teaching facility that will feature two indoor hitting bays with state-of-the-art video swing analysis and a media-enhanced conference meeting room; a team clubhouse that will include men’s and women’s locker rooms, a Hall of Champions, coaches’ offices and a study/computer center; and a four-hole short game course, planned by Chet Williams of Nicklaus Design that will create a multitude of practice stations for every conceivable lie or situation, and two large putting greens - one Bentgrass and one Bermuda.

“This golf complex will help our golf teams remain among the elite in collegiate golf while we maintain the high academic performance of our golf student-athletes,” said SMU Director of Athletics Steve Orsini.

A partnership with the DAC will enable SMU to create this golf center that will exceed the standards of the country’s other top golf programs. The facility also will be an instrumental component of SMU’s successful recruitment of outstanding young golfers who will carry on the tradition Stewart established as a student-athlete and professional golfer.

SMU alumnus and two-time U.S. Open champion Payne Stewart envisioned a permanent golf course and practice facility for the University’s golf program, then the one missing ingredient in SMU’s quest to become a perennial top-25 golf program. His spirit and accomplishments, which he often attributed to his experience as an SMU athlete, will be memorialized by this facility.

William Payne Stewart (January 30, 1957 – October 25, 1999) was an American professional golfer who won three majors in his career, the last of which occurred only months before he died in an airplane accident at the age of 42.

Stewart was born in Springfield, Missouri, and attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. He was always popular with fans, especially for his clothing, and was reputed to have the biggest wardrobe of all professional golfers. He was a favorite of photographers because of his tam o’shanter caps and patterned trousers, which were a cross between plus fours and knickerbockers, a throwback to the once-commonplace golfing “uniform”.
